Item Description
Not to be confused w/a typical Sunday Comics section, this is a totally different special insert titled "Graphic Section" measuring 15.5x21" and published as part of the "Chicago Sunday Tribune" March 19, 1944. Complete 10-page section features wonderful "Terry And The Pirates" front page, featuring "The Story Of An Amazing Comic Strip" storyline about the strip and creator Milton Caniff w/several great Caniff images, including "Terry And The Pilots" section at top w/related wartime content including insignias. Bottom has example strip. Story continue on two inside pages, featuring Dragon Lady image. Great wartime content throughout. Faint horizontal crease at center as issued. Pages remain clean, supple and VF overall. Rare and first we've offered in our 51 years. Comes w/15.25x21.5" tear sheet from "The Seattle Sunday Times - Magazine Section" featuring same text w/similar but different content as seen on front of "Graphic Section," including addition of interracial kiss. Complete text continues onto back of back Slightly uneven left margin as removed and faint horizontal crease at center as issued. Pages have even aging but remain clean, supple and Fine/VF overall.
