Item Description
7.25x11.5x7.75" tall heavy gauge steel case w/carry handle and "A.R.P." markings on front most likely held gas masks or other emergency equipment. Moderate paint wear to top of lid w/scattered oxidation, more moderate at closure clasps and hinges. Interior remains clean. VG/Fine. Lot also include trio of related booklets, including "Organisation Of Air Raid Casualties Services," Air Raid Defense League-issued "Practical Guide For The Householder And Air-Raid Warden" w/color illustrations and small "Churchill" booklet featuring numerous photos and quotes from Britain's wartime leader. Booklets show some scattered wear/aging and are Fine overall. 10x15" double-sided "Specimen" poster for displaying in public/commercial buildings to denote building specifications and contents to alert Fire Brigades/Fire Bomb Parties. One side has hand-lettered "Council Yard London Road" notation. Poster has several creases and .5" spot of staining. VG/Fine. An interesting lot pertaining to hardships suffered by the English population at the beginning of World War II.
