Item Description
11" long w/1.75" sepia toned real photo portrait button suspended from ribbon at center. Brass hanger has "District Of Columbia" cello insert and a high relief diecut brass medallion of the U.S. Capitol suspended from loop. Ribbon has additional text at bottom "On His Return To The United States" and "August 30, 1906." A very faint fold at center otherwise this badge has only light wear. NM. Bryan traveled w/his family to 18 European and Asian countries in 1905 publishing a travelogue and speaking publicly along the way. His return to the US was a major event as he was by then viewed as the presumed Democratic nominee for 1908. A choice example of this rarely offered badge from an important moment in Bryan's political career.
