Item Description
Ribbon badges are 2.5-3.5" tall and the three largest buttons are 1.25". All from 1898 War era except button with 1907-08 Brunt, San Francisco paper showing Evans who commanded USS Iowa during 1898 war and then he commanded Roosevelt's Great White Fleet on its worldwide cruise from the Atlantic Ocean through the Straits of Magellan to the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco. Details on additional items, in order- #1 back of Dewey medal shows Olympia, #2 "Dewey Loving Cup" (rare), #4 "Dewey" stickpin, some paint loss, #7/8 two identical brass pins with paper labels and fronts that open to show "To Hell With Spain! Remember The Maine", #9 for Oct. 1898 Phila. Peace Jubilee. Lot includes 1.75 x 2.75 x 1" deep cardboard box titled "Rough & Ready Tumblers." Contents are pencil shavings as bed for three 1.25" long celluloid capsules each holding a lead ball. One intact but with cello cracks on one end and decoration of gold heart and gold star stickers. One with flag sticker has missing cello from both ends but ball still contained, one with Dewey and anchor sticker and intact cello. A first we've seen rarity. Except for cello capsule noted damage, nearly all items Exc to Mint.
