Item Description
Original cardboard box contains 10.5" long tin litho zeppelin wind-up made in Germany by Tippco for the German market as noted by Nazi Germany swastika on tailfins and illustrated box lid. Exported versions of this toy did not feature swastika markings on the toy or box lid. 1930s. Box has even aging and some corner tip wear. Lid has professional repair to hinge at back edge and has replaced insert. Lid also has some faint moisture spotting, not overly distracting. Box is rare and displays Fine. Toy has "Hindenberg" name and "D-LZ 129" airship markings and comes w/original celluloid propellers. Original hanging tab on top. Toy comes w/replacement key and works well. Evenly aged w/some tiny paint nicks/scratches, but tailfin decals are 100 % complete. One of the four side mounted motors is slightly pushed in, does not affect body of toy. Displays VF. Scarce German version. See Hindenburg first flight to US press photo #765.
