Item Description
Original box w/illustrated lid label contains 10" long tin litho trolley car. Made in Germany by Lehmann, 1912. Box has even moderate aging and lid is missing 1.5" and 2.25" side panel sections as well as right end side panel. Lid label has some spots of moisture staining and scattered wear. VG. One of famous toy company Lehmann's most ingenious creations, toy is modeled after early German monorail designs in bright colors. Comes w/aged/stained German/English instruction sheets that explain how to engage the friction drive to achieve the gyroscope/stabilizing action to balance the toy as it travels about on its two in-line wheels. Internal mechanisms move freely so toy should work as designed. A few tiny spots of aging and streaks of bare metal showing along edges of roof, but o/w bright, glossy and Fine/VF overall.
