Item Description
9-3/8" tall clock has painted dimensional cast metal front, walnut body and tin back. Made in Germany, c. 1900. Clock has beveled glass front w/paper face marked w/"Germany" and "J" maker's mark within star. Face has 1/8" puncture at 6 o'clock area and is evenly aged. Front of clock features detailed, high relief image of stereotypical African-American musician seated atop clock w/bottle in his hand. Clock works when wound counter clockwise w/original key. Glass eyes move horizontally in a left, center, right fashion before repeating. Scattered paint wear; w/areas of bare metal visible on tall hat, which shows the most wear. Scattered oxidation to back, which has stabilized. Fine overall but still very nice for display.
