Item Description
7.75x10.5" program for Oct. 17, 1943 game between the Steagles and Bears that took place at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. The Steagles were the temporary merger of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles during the 1943 season that was necessitated by the loss of players from both teams due to military service during World War II. Officially referred to as the "Phil-Pitt Combine," the more popular Steagles name has since become the enduring moniker. Program features typical content and advertisements. Some lt. oxidation to single staple and pinch creases to spine. Cover has some scattered handling wear w/small spot of surface paper lift on front center right and some dust soiling on back. Fine overall. Scarce. See Steagles vs. Redskins program, following item #780.
