Item Description
14-1/8x22" thin cardboard sign advertises 1941 New Year's contest that has been played annually in New Orleans, LA since 1935. Sign promotes "7th Annual Classic" that lasted Dec. 27, 1940 to Jan. 1,1941, culminating in the college football game that featured fourth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers and fifth-ranked Boston College Eagles. Poster is dominated by image college football player and features image of Tulane Stadium w/"New Orleans" text within it and flags along bottom touting other events - Rowing, Tennis, Basketball, Boxing, Track and Regatta, w/illustration on each flag. Poster was printed by Sniders' Poster Process Studio of New Orleans, LA. Scattered corner tip wear and tiny age spotting. Still VF overall.
