Item Description
11.25" tall doll made in Spain by Spanish dollmaker Ernesto Cahn. This company made a wonderful line of Disney authorized dolls in the 1930s for sale only in Europe. All are rare as production was low. Their only markings were string tags, which the doll's original aged tag is included about his wrist. Doll has high quality mohair body w/felt ears, hands, pants and shoes. Mickey's nose, mouth and tongue are also felt, as is area around glass bead eyes. Wire inserts in fingers, ears and tail for posing. All over even aging/dust soiling w/tip of tongue off and 1" split to side of neck, revealing straw stuffing. Much mohair is missing from face. VG overall, but still displays nicely. Among the rarest Mickey Mouse dolls of the 1930s and the only example we've seen in our 51 years. Comes w/8.5x10.78" typed letter on Ernesto Cahn letterhead dated Nov. 10, 1930. Letter is in Spanish but refers to 1931 invoice and has been boldly signed in black ink by Ernesto Cahn himself. This may possibly be the only such document in existence from this company, let along signed by Cahn himself. Folded w/even aging. VF.
