Item Description
Lot of three solid painted plaster statues given as prizes at carnivals in the 1930s. Popeye is 10" tall and comes w/separate cork pipe in his mouth. Top of hat has "Made In Austria" label. A number of Popeye statues were produced in different sizes, poses and in a wide variety of colors. This example is very nicely painted and in VF/Exc. condition w/just a few paint nicks to feet and edge of hat. Olive Oyl is 8.5" tall. Rare. Wimpy is 7.75" tall. Scarce. Both have some lt. scattered paint wear but are VF to Exc. overall. While several Popeye statues were produced, far fewer were produced for Wimpy and Olive Oyl, this one of only a few we've offered in our 51 years.
