Item Description
2.5x4.75x1" box w/illustrated lid contains 1x1.25" chrome luster case watch w/original leather band. New Haven, ©1935 KFS. Box lid was originally attached to base w/paper hinge at back; lid is now separated. Scattered corner tip/edge wear w/some scattered surface paper lifting on font side edge of lid due to tape removal. Box is complete w/die-cut insert and is Fine overall. Watch dial shows Popeye surrounded by "Thimble Theater" characters w/animated arms. Small image of Wimpy chasing hamburger between Popeye's legs. Bands show some lt. wear from use. Back of case is painted blue as produced w/some tiny paint flakes. Chrome portion of case shows very minimal wear, near full luster remains. Dial and crystal remain bright and clean. Fine/VF overall. Running. Rare and one of just a few boxed examples we've offered in our 51 years.
