Item Description
2.25" w/"AFL-CIO IUDTW Local 24" union bug at 6 o'clock. Faint and even light brown toning throughout. Otherwise moderate surface wear in reflected light. VF. This button relates to the Van Avery Drug Store picket. The drug store owned by a white family and catered to a largely African American community but would not hire black employees. Local youth in co-operation w/the NAACP boycotted the store from June of 1963 into the following fall. Only the third example known to us.
