Item Description
1" with W&H back paper. Sullivan was catcher and a member of 1906 World Champion Chicago White Sox. The button's photo is from that era causing the undated button to usually be attributed years before its actual use. The button was produced to commemorate Sullivan's induction into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame on June 29, 1954. The night before there was a banquet in his honor in Ft. Atkinson, Wisc. where he went to high school. The next day bus loads of fans traveled from Ft. Atkinson to Milwaukee's County Stadium for a ceremony preceding a Braves vs. Cubs game. The image on this button is also  seen on a large banner hanging behind him in photos taken of him addressing the crowd June 29, 1954. Scarce and Mint.
