Item Description
6x9" single-sided green paper newspaper premium picture. This is first version issued in 1929. A larger (11.5x17.5") version was issued on textured orange paper in 1931. Picture features nice full body image of Buck Rogers holding space pistol in hand, his helmet hanging from his arm and "With My Very Best Regards - Buck Rogers" facsimile inscription. Additional text reads "Telephoto By Lt. Dick Calkins - Air Corp. Res. - U.S. Army" w/small John Dille Co. copyright under Buck's feet. Picture was folded into eights and front has moderate fading w/slightly darker border along top and left margins. Upper left corner has thin ring of staining and two small holes where button was once attached (not included). General handling wear, but despite issues, image remains bold and distinct. VG/Fine overall. While we offered the 1931 version in our last auction, this is the first example of the 1929 version we've offered in our 51 years. Very rare.
