Item Description
2" square plastic badge w/incised black lettering and reverse bar pin. A couple light hairline scratches on black plastic reverse. Front is NM, displaying Mint. A little background: On the evening of June 4, 1968, Robert Kennedy awaited election results of the California Democratic Primary in the Royal Suite Of L.A.'s Ambassador Hotel. Downstairs in the Embassy Room, the site of his upcoming ballroom victory speech, the crowd and press began to grow. Jimmy Breslin of the New York Post arrived around 7pm. James Lowe, Chairman Of The Young Professionals For Kennedy, was helping Pierre Salinger and Frank Mankiewicz, RFK's Press Secretary, vet the newspapermen's credentials from an anchor desk set up in the foyer behind the Embassy Room. From this location, these "Embassy Room/Press" badges were distributed. These extremely rare badges were the last badges ever produced for use at a Robert F. Kennedy campaign event. Jerry Bruno Collection. Comes With Hake's COA.
