Item Description
28.25x42" for the original release of the 1918 Paramount Pictures drama directed by George H. Melford and starring Florence Vidor and Sessue Hayakawa, one of the first Asian actors to earn fame in American films. The film deals w/Hawaiian princess Vidor's reluctance to marry American pearl trader Hayakawa after his family fortune is lost. This theme is wonderfully captured in stone lithography by Alpha Litho. Co. of New York. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted and has had some restoration along fold lines, including repairs to 1" V-shaped tear on bottom horizontal fold line below "Jesse" name and 3x6.75" oval piece replaced at Vidor's hands that has scattered restoration to the area around it. Margins have moderate restoration as well, w/repairs/airbrushing to tears and fold lines. VG/Fine overall, but display is still very nice as restored.
