Item Description
The two-sided 2-1/8" dia. cello fob was a Whitehead & Hoag invention that quickly followed the advent of the pin-back button in 1896. Being larger and with two celluloid sides, a higher cost was justified for this "fancy" version of a button. This piece includes its original rwb narrow ribbon at the top. Apparently this was meant to be untied resulting in enough length to tie the piece through a button hole. Issued for "Mattoon Street Fair Oct. 5-8, 1898".  Rare and NM displaying Mint.
