Item Description
Each 1.25" by Bastian. The first six in the photo were issued first and each has a back paper "One of a series of six buttons showing the world's most famous planes" plus text calling "Aviation" and "Vitamin D Bond Bread"  the "Two Greatest Scientific Strides Of Today". Each button shows the plane, names the pilot/pilots and lists the major accomplishment. In order these are #1 Lindy, #2 Post and Gatty, #3 Commander Byrd, #4 Coste and Bellonte, #5 Earhart, #6 Floyd Bennett. Shortly later, the second set was issued. These do not have back papers but they do have the addition of adverting text around the front upper rims. Also, button #4 replaces Coste and Bellonte plane with the "Autogiro" and text "Autogyro Lands On White House Lawn, April 22,1931". Three buttons in the second set of six have the design shifted a bit off center, either left of right. All are clean and glossy. Exc. to Mint.
