Item Description
27x41" for the original release of the 1944 Universal Pictures Sherlock Holmes film, the ninth of 17 films starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock and Nigel Bruce as Doctor Watson. Great stone lithography by Morgan Litho. Corp. of Cleveland, OH features portraits of Rathbone and Bruce at upper left looking down at Evelyn Ankers and rest of cast at bottom (including horror actor Rondo Hatton). Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted w/color touch-ups along fold lines and restoration at fold crease intersections; more moderate restoration at top and center fold crease intersections. In addition to splits at fold lines, margins have had some scattered restoration that includes the removal of brown paper tape from top left and center as well as bottom center. As restored and linen-mounted, poster now displays VF w/vivid color.
