Item Description
10-3/8" tall painted and glazed ceramic pitcher w/wooden bottom container for music box feature that plays "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?" when picked up (as rod sensor retracts when set down turning music off). Made in England Wadeheath, c. 1930s. Exceptional pitcher w/large figural Big Bad Wolf handle design as if he is holding onto the top rim of the pitcher and peering down at the high relief images of the Three Pigs. Pigs are surrounded by trees and flowers w/house and bkg. also in relief design. This example is more fully painted w/more detail than typically found w/additional flowers and lawn fully painted. A matching Snow White musical pitcher was also produced at the same time and non-musical versions were also produced. Music box feature works. Minor .25" hairline/flake at bottom edge, but as produced. Typical minor crazing. VF/Exc.
