Item Description
10-5/8x15-7/8" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for page 3 of "The Flash" #222, published by DC Comics, Aug. 1973. Page features five panels, w/fifth panel being larger splash. Story featured an appearance by Green Lantern and as such, his archnemesis Sinestro also makes an appearance. Sinestro is seen visiting the shop of tailor Paul Gambi (aka the Crime Tailor), who produces the costumes for several of DC's supervillains, including Flash's famed Rogues Gallery. Gambi is seen working on Captain Boomerang's costume as he is snuck up on by Sinestro, who reveals himself in last panel. Art is by longtime DC artist Irv Novick (1916-2004) w/inks by Frank McLaughlin and Dick Giordano. Top margin has stamped "The Flash" title w/issue and page numbers as well as an editorial note. Back has 1973 DC Comics copyright stamp. Right margin has slightly uneven trim, but this does not affect art, which remains clean and Exc.
