Item Description
Ferdinand Horvath (1891-1973) was a story sketch artist at Disney from 1934 to 1937 who brought a European style to Disney's animated projects, working on many Disney shorts and doing preliminary work on "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs." Offered here is a 14.75x17.75" frame containing sheet of art paper w/pencil original art w/a few charcoal and white ink highlights that has been professionally triple-matted to 8x10.75". Art depicts Horvath's concept of the interior of the Old Mill from Disney's 1937 Silly Symphony "The Old Mill." Scene shows the aged wooden beams as well as the mill itself and a leaning ladder. The darkened space is graced w/several cobwebs and light peeks in through the wooden slat walls. Signed by Horvath at lower right. Sheet has some handling wear and even aging, but art remains clean and Exc. Very detailed and ready for display.
