Item Description
Root has been called "The Prototype Of The 20th Century 'Wise Man' As He Alternated Between High Level Government Positions In Washington And A Private Legal Practice In NYC." He became a New York Senator in 1909, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1912, and was a presidential hopeful in 1916, receiving 13 votes on the first ballot. This ribbon badge is 4-3/8" tall. Light tanning on the cello insert on the bar pin that reads "For President." His full name is printed on fabric ribbon. Some loss of gold lettering, mainly on the white stripe, but easily readable. The brass frame suspension below has NM luster and its center holds a 1" crisp and clear real photo celluloid of him. Rare.
