Item Description
8" tall by 10" long mohair elephant w/jointed head and legs. Made in Germany by famous toy maker Gebrüder Bing. 1920s as elephant has "GBN Bavaria" tin tag in ear featuring the company's logo from that time period. Bing is mostly known for their tin toys, but also made a line of stuffed Teddy Bears and plush animals starting in the early 1900s. Elephant features realistic design and has painted metal eyes, felt tusks and black stitching to footpads. Mohair has some thinning on sides of legs and on back and trunk but 90% remains. VF.
