Item Description
11x14" pressed cardboard album w/35 plus pages w/75 plus photos. Most are 8x10", w/a few smaller. Scrapbook appears to have been put together just after World War II ended. Most show Pacific Theater images, many appearing to be from AP photographers as several images include AP reporters. Detailed battle images and ships shown may indicate that some of these were official Navy photographs. This cannot be completely verified as all photos are glued to pages and all have had their corner clipped. Images shown include leaders such as Admirals Halsey and Nimitz, Generals MacArthur and Eisenhower as well as Winston Churchill. Navy ships shown include USS Missouri, Enterprise, Pennsylvania, Yorktown and numerous others. Battle and damage scenes include the bombing of Tokyo, Imo Jima, Palau. Scrapbook has some corner tip /edge wear and is Fine overall w/Fine to VF contents. Fascinating look at this area of World War II history.
