Item Description
Pair of artboards, 7x21.75" and 7.5x22-1/8" and each w/three panels of India ink original art by "Gasoline Alley" creator Frank King. Both feature World War II content as Skeezix served in the military during that time. Feb. 13 strip has "Coming Up" pencil title at left and shows Skeezix and his crew firing howitzer. Chicago Tribune copyright strip in last panel. Pin hole at top center margin w/some lt. glue residue at left. Fine overall w/Exc. art. April 10 strip has "In Other Words" pencil title at left and shows Sunshine typing letter and deciding to set out on foot to look for missing pilot. Skeezix advises him against this, warning he could be captured by the Germans. First panel shows tanks and has Tribune copyright strip. Aged strip of tape on back. Pin holes at top center. Fine overall w/Exc. art. King has signed last panel of each strip.
