Item Description
Large and impressive 20x27.5" black illustration board features mixed media original artwork by legendary Fantasy/Sci-Fi and comic book artist Greg Hildebrandt. Art features image of fan-favorite Batman villain The Riddler, who first appeared in "Detective Comics" #140 (Oct. 1948). The Riddler (aka Edward Nigma) is depicted from the waist up, leaning in towards the viewer, his question mark-topped cane held in his hand. Art is nicely accented by the color purple, w/the green of Riddler's eyes offering a nice nod to the villain's traditional costume colors. Created and dated July 2008 at lower right, where art has been signed by Hildebrandt. Illustration board has some corner tip wear and is VF while art remains bold and Exc. Hildebrandt started creating original art on these black illustration boards back in 2007, and has created over 125 since then. Of those 125, only 11 of them have featured comic book characters and themes, making this a rare opportunity to obtain one of these striking pieces.
