Item Description
18-3/8x21-1/8" frame contains matted artboard w/oil painting original art by The Brothers Hildebrandt created in 1994 for Fleer's popular "Marvel Masterpieces" trading card series. Card #138 features the villain The Wrecker, a Marvel comic supervillain who has battled Thor time and again (first appearing in 1968), as he was granted superhuman strength and stamina via the Asgardian Gods, courtesy of his indestructible crowbar. Using this he has fought by himself and alongside members of the Wrecking Crew, who has also received similar powers. Signed "G & T Hildebrandt" at bottom. Tim Hildebrandt has since passed away. Few pieces of original Marvel art by The Brothers Hildebrandt come up for sale on the secondary market, making this a truly special piece. Art remains NM and ready for display as professionally matted and framed.
