The unusual slogan on this handsome mother of pearl shield shaped badge derives from a Massachusetts State Convention speech. Chairman Donavan speaking to the need to relieve tariff taxes implored his fellow Democrats "Whiskey Is Cheap Enough Now. We Want No Free Whiskey In Ours; Not While There Are Poor Mothers And Helpless Children Shivering Through The Winter Nights Because The Tariff Taxes Make Blankets So Scarce And Dear!" Surface scratches and moderate overall wear. VF. First we can recall encountering in our 51 years.
