Item Description
14x22" cardboard window card advertising a concert "Sun. Oct. 20" at the "Oakland Coliseum." Design is inspired by American frontier old west "Wanted" posters and features the Motown group's classic five lineup in cowboy hats and bandanas. At left, Melvin Franklin checks his watch which displays the time at 'high noon' and David Ruffin is pictured at far right. Additional acts include "Shorty Long" and the "Mirretts." Reverse has: tape residue at top r/l and bottom center; surface paper loss from removal along the left edge and light glue residue- none of which affects display quality. Front has: moisture marks along bottom edge; a clean punch hole at top left; pin/staple holes scattered along bottom edge and in in top third; top r/l corner wear and moderate handling wear. VG. None of these minor defects affect the central image of the legendary Motown group. This poster was obtained from the promoters son by the consignor and is the only example known to us. A truly outrageous Temptations concert poster that is among the best designs we have encountered.
