Item Description
Original box w/"My Favorite Baseball Team" illustrated lid label contains 7" tall bobbing head. This is Cincinnati Red "Mr. Red" mascot from 1961-1963 series of bobbing heads w/white square bases. This series was the first comprehensive series of MLB bobbing heads, including examples from 20 different franchises, nine of those (including the example offered here) featuring mascot heads. Bobbing head is complete w/original neck cardboard in place but does exhibit some wear. Neck has .5" hairline on chin, 5/8" hairline on cheek by baseball stitching, 1.25" hairline on back of head at neck and inner rim of neck has 5/8" edge flake. Fine overall but still displays VF from the front. Box shows obvious wear w/crease and edge wear. Scattered aging. Fine overall. Scarce piece from this early series.
