11x21" thin cardboard sign features Fearless Fosdick, Al Capp's parody of Dick Tracy, who appeared as a strip-within-a-strip in Capp's "Li'l Abner." Fosdick is shown on this sign advertising Wildroot Cream-Oil hair tonic. ©1954 United Feature Syndicate. Fosdick's word balloon reads "Get Free Plastic Dispenser With Wildroot Cream-Oil" as he shoots towards image of the special. Heavy vertical crease at center w/some scattered spots of staining at top and middle center. Crease on Fosdick image. VG/Fine. Several different advertising pieces featuring Fearless Fosdick promoting this product were made, this particular sign being rare.
