Item Description
13-7/8x21-7/8" thin cardboard poster for Jan. 1, 1961 concert at the KRNT Theater in Des Moines, IA featuring Grand Ole Opry stars Ernest Tubb, Norma Jean, Porter Wagoner, Jack Greene, Wilma Burgess and Don Bowman, all of whom are pictured in photos over their names. Poster also lists The Texas Troubadours, The Wagonmasters and Speck Rhodes as performers (though they are not pictured). Tubb, nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. Norma Jean received two Grammy nominations and was a Grand Ole Opry member for a number of years before appearing on "The Porter Wagoner Show." Wagoner, known as Mr. Grand Ole Opry, charted 81 singles from 1954-1983 and was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002. Poster has some minor corner tip wear but is o/w bright, clean and Exc. Rare.
