Item Description
20x33.25" textured paper print w/metal strips at top/bottom, top strip having brass loop for hanging. Art by Frank Schoonover (1877-1972) features great Western scene showing cowboy on horseback, based on an actual range rider from Colorado/Montana named Tex (short for Texas) and his favorite horse, Patches. Bottom has "Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co. Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A." text and Schoonover's facsimile signature at lower right. Print has been rolled and has some scattered handling wear but still VF overall. Comes w/8.5x11" printed letter from Schoonover to Colt, discussing his inspiration for the painting, which was sent w/each poster. Letter goes into detail about both the character of the man and his horse. Rolled and Exc.
