Item Description
"Here Comes The Grump" was a short-lived animated cartoon series produced by DePatie-Freleng Ent. that aired on NBC from Sept. 6, 1969 to April 25, 1970, airing a total of 17 episodes. Lot includes pair 7.75x10.5" high relief thin Vacuform plastic Halloween masks for The Grump, each mask having been completely hand-painted. First variety features Grump w/white skin, black hair and red hat/eyes while second variety depicting Grump w/Caucasian skin, dayglo red hair and green hat is how this mask was ultimately produced. Masks are marked "Original" in black ink on inside, Collegeville's way of identifying it as a unique prototype, though first version has been crossed out. Some lt. scattered paint wear as well as tiny scattered edge cracks, largest being .25" on color variety. VF overall. A unique pair for a rare costume from an obscure cartoon property.
