Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains 3.25x7.5x7" tall hand-painted wooden rocking horse has attached celluloid Henry rider figure and features built-in winding mechanism underneath horse. Made in Japan and distributed in the US by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp. in the early 1930s. © Carl Anderson. Lid label features images of two different images of Henry on rocking horse and his mahout friend. Box and label have some lt. scattered age spotting but retains its shape nicely and remains VF for display. Rocking horse shows moderate scattered paint wear/flaking and one of horse's ears is professional replacement. VG/Fine overall. Henry has jointed arms/legs and holds original string reins in one hand. Small markings on Henry's back include copyright symbol, maker's mark of letter "T" in a circle and "Made In Japan" text. Rod connecting Henry's legs at hips is professional replacement. Some soiling to left leg/arm, but o/w Fine overall w/no cracks. Toy works properly. Rare as boxed.
