Item Description
Original cardboard box illustrated w/numerous small images of Mickey Mouse on sides w/top flap having larger full body images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. Two side panels have Emerson name panel w/stamped "411" model number. Box is complete w/all separate cardboard inserts. Glue repair to bottom flap inserts and 5/8x2/78" glue repair, reattaching surface paper lifted when tape used to secure top box flap was pulled. Aged tape remnants at this area w/small spot of surface paper lift. Lid has additional aged strip of tape along top front edge and faint tape stain along top center of adjoining side. Minor corner tip wear w/.25" tear at one top corner, but box is o/w tight, bright and clean. Fine/VF overall and the best example of only a few we've offered in our 52 years. Comes w/3.5x6-3/8" illustrated "Emerson Radio" store brochure that opens to show various Emerson models, including the Mickey Mouse model offered here (w/small Mickey image alongside radio image). Some scattered handling wear and even lt. aging. VF. Rare and first we've seen. Box contains 5x7x7" tall solid wood radio w/pressed Syroco wood composition panels on four sides. Each panel has great high relief image of Mickey playing different instruments. 1930s. Front has small "Emerson Mickey Mouse" metal plate, additional Emerson plate on the wooden back panel is also present. Complete w/original speaker cloth, knobs, cord and antenna wire. Tubes light, radio hums, but we did not try to bring in any stations. Has some lt. wear to darker areas on top and front but shows none of the typical warping of the wood panels. VF/Exc. Classic piece of Disneyana w/its rarely seen box.
