Item Description
Two complete sets, for a total of seven ranging in height from 1-7/8" to 3.5" tall. Made in Germany by Hertwig, 1920s. Set of four from "Smitty" comic strip that began in 1922. Set includes Smitty, Herby, Mr. Bailey and Scraps the Dog. All have character names and "Germany" incised on back. All elastic is tight. Scattered paint wear but o/w bright, clean and VF. Set of three from "Little Orphan Annie" includes Annie, Sandy and Daddy Warbucks (Annie and Warbucks are nodders while Sandy is static figure). Each has character name and "Germany" incised on backs (Warbucks also has creator Harold Gray's name). Scattered paint wear but o/w bright, clean and VF to Exc. and nicer than typically found.
