Item Description
Unlike the Macy's pre-printed form letters, this is of a personal nature typed to a specific recipient. This letter is dated Dec. 13, 1940 and is issued to Josef Kleinkauf from Deborah Knapp in reference to "Terminated Employee." Letter reads in part "I Am Notifying You That One Employee Has Been Terminated. The Costume Has Been Returned To The Store And We Replaced The Actor." Interesting to note that the Macy's Superman actor had been fired. Letterhead design includes full figure image of Superman at top right while at bottom is "S" symbol along w/"Superman Inc, - Journal American - WOR Radio 710" participating sponsors. Unfolded and NM.
