Item Description
11.5x16-5/8" Super 85 Royal illustration board has gouache original art painting used as cover to "Tarzan" #273, published in Mexico for the Mexican market by Editorial Novaro, 1960s. Cover features Tarzan rescuing the Golden Princess from man-eating plants, several toothy fly-trap-like mouths snapping at the pair as Tarzan slashes vines w/his knife. Both Tarzan and Golden Princess were painted separately, neatly cut out and applied to main image w/plants, which blends nicely as published. "Tarzan - 273" inked notation at bottom right margin. Tarzan has some faint glue staining to legs while Golden Princess has some spots on her chest, which has .25x.5" touch-up. Tarzan's loincloth has two small spots of surface paper lift. Some scattered aging/dust soiling to margins, but would display VF if matted and framed.
