Item Description
11.25x14.5" artboard has 10-1/8x11.25" artboard attached w/Joe Musial's pen and ink original art for cover to the April 1946 issue of "Ace Comics," published by David McKay. Cover features Fritz Katzenjammer of "The Katzenjammer Kids" watching woodpeckers carve totem pole design on his baseball bat. Art has been applied to artboard, covering unpublished art showing Hans dumping soot from pipe into stocking that had previously been hanging on washline (seen in bkg.). Art of Hans and pipe has been inked while washline is preliminary pencil art. "Ace Comics" logos at top are printed stats. All else is original art. Musial has signed at lower left, which has KFS copyright strips. Scattered handling wear/dust soiling w/some scattered traces of glue staining along right margin. Art is still VF overall.
