Item Description
1.25". Design features TR and Booker T. Washington at the dinner table sharing food and drink. TR invited Washington to dinner in Oct. 1901 to make good on his pledge to consult Washington on matters of race and patronage. The dinner caused a stir nationally, after which TR continued to consult Washington but he was never again invited for dinner. Three cello cuts; a diagonal from the "T" in "Equality" to the just above Washington's outreached hand, affecting the bottle and along the outer edge at 6 to 7 o'clock. VG. Still displays well w/strong color and no staining. A highly detailed design down to the yellow dots on the wallpaper.
