Item Description
To promote The Beatles' first five Capitol Records releases, including 1964's "The Beatles Story" in time for the 1964 Christmas season, Capitol produced a cardboard rack display for record stores, totaling six and a half feet in height, released in Nov. 1964. Offered here is the 34x44.5" tall die-cut cardboard display topper, featuring nearly full body images of The Beatles, each depicted wearing Santa Claus hat and matching suit. Large oval area at bottom features images of four Beatles albums - "The Beatles Story, The Beatles's Second Album, Something New" and "Meet The Beatles!" Display was folded just below the knees of the die-cut Beatles, and Paul McCartney figure is loose (but included) along this fold line. Rest of displays shows moderate aging and wear, w/age spotting, dust soiling and scattered edge wear including dents and small tears. Paul's elbow shows moderate surface wear. Wear is more obvious along right side of oval. Good/VG overall. Very rare, the last example sold at auction was a complete display that sold for $5,517 in 2006.
