Item Description
12.75x18.75" heavy artboard has pen and ink original art for page 57 of "Dracula Lives!" #12, published by Marvel Comics in May 1975. This was the next to final issue of this comic magazine. Art is for last page of "The Sins Of The Fathers" story by Gerry Conway and features eight panels of pen and ink art w/inkwash detailing by Tom Sutton. Story deals w/woman having premonition of her lover Hans' death only for her father to tell her approaching coach brings him back to them courtesy of Count Dracula. Hans is revealed to be dead by an arrow protruding from his chest. Overcome by grief and rage, Woman swears that the baby she is carrying will deliver vengeance upon Dracula, revealing herself as Rachel Van Helsing. Last panel features Dracula portrait w/castle in bkg. Sutton has signed at lower right, which has page number and editorial code. Back has title stamp w/inked issue/page number as well as 1975 Marvel copyright stamp. Artboard has lt. corner foxing, but art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the issue this art was published for.
