Item Description
9.5x12x2" deep box w/illustrated lid contains complete set of eight 3.5" tall painted blown glass ornaments. Doubl-Glo, ©1938 WDE. Box has die-cut lid w/"Paper Novelty Manufacturing Co." name on inside flap and features great illustration of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs decorating Christmas tree, including two of these figural ornaments. Box is complete w/cardboard insert w/die-cut areas for ornaments along w/each character's name. Box has one corner split and 1" at back left corner of lid. Die-cut lid has been punched for display and both die-cut section and rest of lid are loose but included. Box is Good/VG overall. Each ornament is complete w/metal cap/hanging wire loop. These ornaments were very susceptible to paint wear due to the thin layer of paint applied over the glass. Bashful ornament is missing bottom of feet and Sleepy ornament has .5" piece missing to back of feet. These are Good/VG and just comes along but still display well as boxed. All others remain complete and structurally sound w/some minor traces of paint wear, a couple of minute flakes here and there. VF overall. Rare.
