Item Description
2.25x3.25" card w/inscription reading "Woodhull Shall Have Justice Or[?] Democracy[?] The Church[?]" and signed boldly at conclusion "Geo. Francis Train The Reformer." Light handling and age toning otherwise only minor stray ink. VF. Train was jailed in 1872 on charges of obscenity while defending Woodhull after her newspaper reported on adulterous affairs of Henry Ward Beecher and Elizabeth Tilton. The eccentric New York businessman ran a quixotic Presidential campaign in 1872. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
