Item Description
Lot of three items related to Sears' "Santa's 1942 Christmas Give-Away" promotion, which included a 12-page "Dot And Dash And The Lucky Jingle Piggie" comic book that contained a US War Savings Bond stamp album and punch-out Jingle Piggie bank. Lot includes two identical 10.5x13.5" single-sided sheets w/art of Santa Claus and Jingle Piggie riding tank, shell burst w/promotional text surrounding them. Additionally, Santa holds folded V...-Mail letter addressed to store managers/advertising managers. One sheet has letter still sealed, while other has been neatly opened, revealing tiny printed promotional text about upcoming comic premium. Sheets are Exc. Comes w/9x10-7/8" promotional folder featuring Santa Claus, Jingle Piggie and Uncle Sam on front, w/accompanying patriotic text. Folder opens to reveal store plan for give-away, showing cover to the comic, as well as stamp album and Jingle Piggie bank. Back has additional ad mat images for newspapers, etc. Exc. Rare retailer's promotional papers for obscure premium comic (which is listed in Overstreet Price Guide). First we've seen of either sheet in our 52 years.
