Item Description
11.25x17.5". Inspired by the Love-Ins in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles the Detroit counter culture held a "Love-In" at Belle Isle bandshell April 30, 1967. This newspaper was published prior to the event and aims to advertise participation. It features: psychedelic graphics on front and back cover, a large center spread w/art by "Cracked" and interviews w/Sun Ra and Frank Zappa. Moderate even age toning w/scattered small margin tears at edges and minor chipping along left edge. Fine. Scarce. The event featured performances by MC-5, Southbound Freeway and Billy C. And The Sunshine.
