Item Description
12x24" woodblock signed in print "Martha Lloyd '71." Poster advertises a June 2, 1971 event at "Spaulding Auditorium" in "Carlisle," MA. Inscribed and signed at lower right in silver felt tip marker "To Martha- Thanks So Much For Support. It's Been An Interesting Journey! John Kerry." Poster has two horizontal folds  and moderate handling wear. VF. This is the only example of this early career Kerry poster we've encountered in 52 years. Also included are: June 11, 1971 letter on "John F. Kerry" stationery from Julia Kerry w/opening line "Thanks A million For The Posters" and hand written "P.S. The Posters Are All Over Our 'Office' Walls"; "John Kerry For US Congress" 8.5x10.5" campaign pamphlet; April 28, 1971 Boston Evening Globe news clipping about early Kerry campaign events and an Aug. 13, 2004 clipping from the Carlisle Mosquito featuring a story about the history of the poster.
